hey all,
i had an idea for private mail. what if you could save important messages to your computer so you could clear out your mail box. you could save the message as a text file for later reading. what do you guys think?

and even though i can see the point in it, you can save messages to your computer now.
just copy in to a word document
I've done that before just by copying and pasting into a word document.
some of us can't do that easily, we use notetakers.

No need for it, since one can already save html files to the machine from within the browser. Is there no way to do this within a note taker?
I agree about the option of saving it to the hard disk. Its just more options that would be availble, and besides, isnt it easier to just click "Save message"?
It would be a lot easier to do that, eithr that or have it send you the email in your inbox the way livejournal sends you your comments with an option to reply at the web page and everything.
That would be nice, to have your messages mailed to you.

notetakers can save html, but i want the file to have the from, date, subject, and body of the message. not the rest of the page like the log in list, ads, qns, ETC.
I understand, now, Rat, what you want. Yes, having the messages mailed to you or having an rss feed, or something would be a nice option.
Speaking from the perspective of someone who occasionally accesses this site with a BrailleNote, I wouldn't like RSS since the BN doesn't support that. E-mailing the messages is a better idea.
